Please be inform that Choir will resume on This coming Tuesday, 20th of Oct in the Old Library.
As school will end at 1pm due to post exam activities, choir will start promptly at 2pm and end at 5pm instead.

CHOIR CAMP '09

I hope that all of you enjoyed the choir camp, from the start til the nightwalk til the farewell ceremony. I also do hope that the seniors (the sec threes and twos) have a chance to bond with the juniors. I've read a few blogs and it seemed that this camp was quite enjoyable. A lot of the sec ones felt left out during the farewell ceremony but don't worry alright? We still have some more time to get to know you guys. Thank you Ms Grace for the ICE CREAMS too and of course the alumnis who took time off from their busy schedule to visit and help us out. Thank you to all those who came too.

To know and fill in every other job in the committee
Works with committee to head plan activities
Report the progress of the choir to teachers

To work closely with president and committee members
Split job between two VPs
Act in place of president if he/she is not around.

TO ALL SEC4s: your presence is required during the camp as you wil be going with choir to indonesia. Therefore, you HAVE to be there for all the choir practices unless you have valid reasons.

To ALL MEMBERS: If you have not gotten the consent forms, please do come to school to get them on TUESDAY from the general office. those without consent forms, it would be very troublesome. Any other camp things will be posted here by VP amandayeong.

Hey choir, isabel here.

We have all seen the hard work we've put in. You all know how lucky we were to get a Gold, right? From day 1 to day 6, there were only 25 golds and GWH. 9/25 are GWH. Just to let you all know, ST Margarets got silver. yeah, dont huh?! they gave too many gold on the 1st two days that why they had to be SO strict to the rest of the other choirs.

Anyway, just to let you know, choir might go on an exchange trip to Indonesia or Australia. We're still in the mist of planning and deciding. As always, money is the main issue. Therefore, give us some time to sort it out. you know, air fare, hotel, and all the other stuff. Mrs Tan has allowed Indonesia(: she didnt like the idea of fanciful places like Aussie because she didnt want those who cannot afford it to not go. Of course, everyone wants to go right? We don't want to leave anyone behind too. Okay, everythings not confimed yet. Pray hard =D

I know the exxams are like so near. However there's one good choir thats performing at esplanade on 14th may.

To all seniors,

The choir coordinally invites you to watch a special performance just for you on Tuesday, 14th April at 5pm.
The venue is still undecided but it would either be in the Old Library(la gallerie) or the school hall.
There will only be 3 songs:
White horses(SYF set piece09') by Stephen Leek
Cantate Domino by Giuseppe Pitoni
Gueh niu ah, qia li ga wa gong (the hokkien song)
The hokkien song was performed in the school's 10th anniversary concert representing choir.

The choir has been working extremely hard this year. The uncountable hours of practice. We hope for you to come down and give us support:D

hi everyone!
it's been long time since i last post...haha
hmm...get back to the point...

SYF is really very very very near....(less than a week)
which means that we have lesser and lesser time for rehearsal before SYF...
I know,or rather we know that many have been putting in a lot of effort as compared to last year or when miss grace first took over us...
from the beginning where many were not confidence of singing out loud,till now many i could say,trying their very best to sing out loud...
i must say,we improve really a lot...

But we shouldnt be very proud of ourselves,cause among us,some(even just one person) can kill the whole choir(in the sense drag us all down)...
it may seems as if its only one person,but like what miss grace says:"one person makes a BIG difference..."
we can be a gold choir,but just because of the minority,we get silver,bronze or even COP...
which i doubt none of your want us to get,since we have already worked so hard,trained so hard...
the sweat,the tears,the happiness,the sadness,that we gone through these few months,i dont think anyone will want to let all these efforts go down the drain...
it will only become a regret,a life time regret...(esp the sec3&4,this is going to be your last syf in this school..)
if your can recall,the last syf,we cried too(the seniors)...why??
cause we got a bronze???
NO!!!not just that,is cause some felt they could do much better...

remember when we last cried together,what was it that made us cry?
its tears of joy,we reap?? what we sow...we out in effort just to perform well for the school 10th anniversary,and yes we did it,as a choir,together as one...
so please dont give up at this moment,put in all your heart for the rest of the rehearsals,spend time wisely at home,as individuals or as small groups,until you are 100% confident of singing them well...
do the best of our ability!sing with your souls,feel the music,understand the meaning of each songs,lastly dont let those who put high hope on us for this SYF down!!
WE CAN DO IT!!!

ps:sry 4 e long post,hope ur will take something from what i have say.since i couldnt say it today..i think i could made use of this and say...though i know not many read these...
but as long as one read,im happy enough=]

you all did a fantastic job yesterday
of course it still can be improved.

1) choir practice next week
kindly infrom your parents that practices are as follows:
monday(6/4)-3-6 pm
tuesday 3-6.30
wednesdays-3-6.30
thursday-3-6.
morning practices still remain
monday 645

2) try to wash your gowns and get them ironed and dried before SYF!
it stinks after 2 days of pespiration

3) 16th april which is syf, you are required to reach schoool at 7 am.
so all the morning practices do help you prepare. (:

4) take care of your voice. no chocolates, hardly a whole lot of chilli, no pepper crab, chilli crab.
its your own voice. you're spoiling it if you eat all this. take care please. ohyes, take viatmins starting from now. incase the flu bug comes back again, then you're safe:D

-when school reopens, everyone is to be in school by 630 am for choir practice.
